How to check vote registration for Pakistan’s General Elections 2018?



ISLAMABAD > The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), in collaboration with Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), has launched an SMS service for eligible voters to check their registration status and information related to a polling station.

How to Check

SMS

Eligible voters can check their vote by sending a text message with their Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) number (without dash) to 8300.
The reply message will contain the information containing their name, and the electoral area. The message also includes a serial number of the voters registered in the initial electoral rolls.
Physical visit
Registered voters can also visit their respective District Election Commissioner’s office to check their voter status.

How to register a vote?

Citizens older than 18 can register the votes by submitting an application along with a copy of CNIC to nearby District Election Commissioner/Registration Office/Assistant Registration Office before 30th April.

List of ECP offices

The form is available online at the ECP website or can be obtained free of cost from the office of the District Election Commissioner / Registration Officer OR Assistant Registration Officer/Display Centre In charge.

Eligibility

A person shall be entitled to be enrolled as a voter in an electoral area if he/she
(a) is a citizen of Pakistan;
(b) is not less than eighteen years of age;
(c) possesses a National Identity Card issued by the National Database and Registration Authority at any time till the last day fixed for inviting claims, objections and applications for preparation, revision or correction of electoral rolls;
(d) is not declared by a competent court to be of unsound mind; and
(e) is or is deemed under section 27 to be resident in the electoral area.
